Project Description:

Sewage coming up through the floor and bathrooms that could not be used brought 5 Star Plumbing to a commercial property in the Nova Drive area of Broussard, Louisiana 70518. The service expanded from investigating a clogged main sewer line to repairing a damaged pipe connection and sewer manhole, with the job marked complete on May 20, 2026.

Our crew ran a sewer camera through every accessible outside cleanout and mapped the system leading to the manhole. The project includes an annotated aerial sewer map with cleanout locations and distance labels. Photos also show the camera reel and sewer jetting equipment on site. This documented layout helped identify the connections involved in the commercial sewer repair.

We returned to excavate and assess the manhole, removed a section of pipe leading into it, and transitioned to Schedule 40 PVC. The repair notes document a connector boot at the damaged opening and hydraulic cement around the connection. Photos show the exposed manhole wall, white PVC pipe, black connector components, and gray cement patches. A connected pipe section with banded couplings is also visible in the excavation.

Inside the manhole, our crew applied hydraulic cement at the pipe entry and reshaped the damaged channel, sloping and smoothing it to guide sewer flow. Several photos document the repaired interior around the pipe opening. Other images show standing water, sediment, and fibrous debris in and around the manhole. The material is visible, but the photos do not establish its exact composition or prove that it alone caused the sewer backup.

On May 18, the crew backfilled the excavation with flow fill and smoothed the filled areas. Photos show the backfilled surface beside the sewer lid and surrounding gravel. After the repair, we jetted the larger pipe to remove debris from the work. The notes listed a later gravel follow-up after the fill dried; the photos do not confirm that final gravel leveling.
